YOU AREN’T BEING SELFISH

LADIES HAVE YOU BEEN TOLD THAT YOU ARE BEING SELFISH AND ONLY CARING ABOUT YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS WITHOUT THE THOUGHTS OF OTHERS?

DOES YOUR MIND TAKE YOU ON A ROLLER COASTER RIDE WITH ALL THE REASONS YOU ARE BEING SELFISH FOR GETTING YOUR HAIRCUT, GOING FOR A NATURE HIKE OR JUST SITTING THERE AND DOING NOTHING??

WAIT A MINUTE TIME OUT! AREN’T YOU A CAREGIVER 24/7? WELL IF YOU ARE THE CAREGIVER 24/7, ARE YOU SELFISH BECAUSE YOU ARE TAKING 30 MINUTES A DAY TO PUT YOURSELF FIRST?!

Being told that you are selfish is one of the main reason that caregiver put themselves on the back burner.

TRUST ME I GET IT!!

The FIRST and MOST IMPORTANT thing to know about putting yourself first and having some ‘me time’ for 30 minutes doesn’t make you selfish!!!!

I still remember like it was yesterday. We had Walter for a month at this point and I had a haircut appointment. I usually LOVE going to get my haircut, because they pamper you right from the moment you walk in. They give you a robe, offer you tea or water. The once you stylist calls me over I get a oil head massage 💆 followed by a relaxing hair wash. Once all of that is done we go back to the chair for a haircut and style. Sounds pretty amazing doesn’t it?! Well, it is! But that particular appointment I still remember how MY MIND MADE ME FEEL GUILTY THAT I WAS GETTING MY HAIR CUT. AND HOW I DIDN’T GO STRAIGHT HOME. I still remember that because my mind kept on telling me that, I NEVER really relaxed during that appointment.

See I do get it! The struggle is real. But that CANNOT PREVENT YOU FROM RECLAIMING YOUR PERSONAL POWER AND PUTTING YOURSELF FIRST!!

Girlfriend, YOU NEED TO RECLAIM YOUR PERSONAL POWER AND PUT YOURSELF FIRST FOR AT LEAST 30 MINUTES A DAY!

This time is IMPORTANT FOR YOU PHYSICALLY, MENTALLY, EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY!!!!!!

We have a battery 🔋 within us like a cell phone does. Just like we need to recharge our phone to make sure it lasts longer and can perform effectively, WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF OURSELVES!!

You cannot give your 100% being a caregiver IF YOUR BATTERY IS AT 1%.

You don’t need to do anything crazy during at time. It can be as simple as reading a book, taking a nap, working out, going for a walk, taking a bath or just snuggling on the couch with a cup of eat watching Netflix!

💥The next time someone tells you that you are being selfish, ask them if they want you to be overwhelmed, over tired and over crabby while cleaning the house or taking them to their next sporting event! 💥
